Where Is Tenerife Anyway ?

I just  realised today that many of my blog readers were from abroad, mainly from the U.S.A, and many don’t know exactly where Tenerife is, hard to believe for us Brits who have been holidaying here for years, but would we know where Cancun was if a few years ago British Travel companies hadn’t of put it on their brochures ?

Here is some useful information on Tenerife, a Spanish island, is the largest of the seven Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean just off the coast of Africa. The island’s population is around 850.000

It is located at 28°19 N, 16°34 W and has a surface area of about 2000km2. Like the rest of the Canary Islands, it is of volcanic origin. The mountain in the middle is called Mount Teide (3718m) and is the  highest point in Spain and its on this island.

The largest city, Santa Cruz de Tenerife, is the capital of the island and seat of the cabildo insular (island government) Mainly a Touristic island with people coming from all over Europe for its all year round climate.

This Site will tell you much more about the Rock in the middle of the ocean on which I choose to live and play golf…..

Restaurant Reviews

I have introduced this section for Golfers and tourists so they may see and hopefully try some of the Non Tourist restaurants around the Island, the sort of place the locals would frequent. I have enrolled the help of a friend who loves to eat out and we will be giving a fair and unbiased opinion on what to expect in terms of service and quality of food we received. We go to these restaurants incognito so receive no special treatment or free food, I think this is the best way for us to give a fair assessment of the premises visited on that particular day and hopefully you will benefit from our experience.
