This blog written by Sir Old Golfer ” The Golf Ambassador to Tenerife”  from his beautiful home in Tenerife overlooking the ocean in Golf Del Sur just a few minutes drive from Golf Del Sur Golf Course where he lives some 9/10 months of the year.

He also has a home on a golf course in Alloway :Ayrshire: Scotland ( Birth place of poet Robert Burns) on the famous west coast Golf area of Scotland, famous for Turnberry, Troon and Prestwick golf courses. He himself was a member of Turnberry Golf club for many years also a member of Glasgow Golf Club.

By all accounts a very handsome chap indeed !

Sir Old Golfer is a Golf sports writer who’s only interest in life at his age is to play as much golf as possible and write about it when its dark, he still plays to a 5 handicap in local club competitions most weeks and is the Golf Del Sur Golf  Club Champion 2008/2010. He spends a lot of time playing in golf tournaments on the Island and especially enjoys the Circuit Tenerife-La Gomera an event spearheaded by theTenerife Golf Association which allows amateur players to play competitively on championship courses on the island.

Another hobby is photography and he enjoys covering all the local golf events and taking snaps of the small towns and villages around the beautiful island he lives on. Here is a link to his photograph albums

One of my Lovely Offices !

He is compiling this Blog to allow others who love Golf and Tenerife as much as he does to share his passion and times on the fairways. The older I have become the better a golfer, in my mind anyway,  I used to be !

“Should we ever meet on the fairways of life, please stop, smile and say hello as unconditionally life, is in fact far too short.”

Read my latest Golf Book : Chapter by Chapter  Here….

Have a look at my lovely pictures of Tenerife’s Golf Courses and Towns...Here

I hope you all enjoy..

Sir Old Golfer.

  3. Sir Old Golf:

First of all, I know you’re not as old as you look. :o)

Secondly I love your blog, and I’m convinced that you’re doing is exactly what the future of golf media is going to look like: A golf-centric publication that transcends the sport to also explore the lifestyle… a hyper-local publication with a global reach, that informs those living in, or visiting, your wonderful region but yet thoroughly entertains and engages those who may only dream of traveling to Tenerife.

    Keep up the awesome work.

  16. Hello Sr, O.G., nice blog, just I can’t believe that you still playing 5 hdcp, becausse the last time that we played, you was aiming 30 yards to right and the hand sent the ball to the left. I hope that you improve for the next game that we’ll have.

  18. I must say I thought the question asked by Mary was perfectly reasonable. It reminded me of the one (and only) time my father took me golfing. He told me to hold the flag so I did and stood nicely out of the way at the edge of the green with it. When I asked him why he was hitting the ball towards me, instead of at the hole in the middle he went a lovely shade of purple…

  21. Hi Sir Old Golfer,

It’s nice to read the blog of a fellow resident and fan of this beautiful island.
You are now on my blogroll.
Incidentally, I live on the La Rosaleda Golf Course in Puerto de la Cruz. Perhaps you could give this friendly pitch ‘n’ putt a mention and if you ever decide to pay a visit, let me know, we could meet at the 19th.
    Hasta luego!
